Biography
Dr. Jiaqi (Jackie) Jin, currently an Assistant Professor of Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Utah, worked as a metallurgist at the Freeport-McMoRan Bagdad operation in Arizona, Barrick Goldstrike operation in Nevada, and Cripple Creek operation in Colorado. His research interests include mineralogy, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, petroleum, CO2/H2 storage, carbonaceous materials, iron&steel, recycling, and advanced process control. His technical expertise focus on the 3D characterization of micro and nano structures using X-ray computed tomography as well as the surface chemistry study of minerals by spectroscopic methods, force measurements, and molecular simulation. Recently, he is interested in multiphase fluid flow in porous media.
