BIO

Dr. Jiaqi (Jackie) Jin, currently an Assistant Professor of Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Utah, worked as a metallurgist at the Freeport-McMoRan Bagdad operation in Arizona, Barrick Goldstrike operation in Nevada, and Cripple Creek operation (currently owned by Newmont) in Colorado. His research interests include mineralogy, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, petroleum, CO2/H2 storage, carbonaceous materials, iron&steel, recycling, and advanced process control. His technical expertise focus on the 3D characterization of micro and nano structures using X-ray computed tomography, surface chemistry study of minerals by spectroscopic methods and molecular simulation, as well as simulation of fluid flow in porous media.
