RICHARD R FORSTER
Associate Dean College of Social & Behavioral Sciences, University of Utah, Social & Behav Science-Dean
Professor, Sch Of Environ,Society&Sustain
Research Summary: My research primarily focuses on using remote sensing data to derive information about snow and ice conditions at the Earth's surface. More specifically I study glaciers, ice sheets, and seasonal snow cover response to climate change. This work is geographically focused on Alaska, Greenland, High Mountain Asia, and the Intermountain West. The data sets I use most frequently are based on microwave remote sensing, especially synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and interferometric SAR (InSAR).

RAJIVE GANGULI
Associate Dean (Assessment), University of Utah, College of Mines and Earth Sciences
Professor, Mining Engineering
Research Summary: Dr. Ganguli has been working on artificial intelligence and systems engineering applications for the mining industry for over two decades. A public domain product from his group, UteAnalytics (mining.utah.edu/ai.sys), is a problem-agnostic machine learning tool. In addition to ai/sys, he has worked on, and been very interested in, addressing the interdisciplinary grand challenges of the mining industry such as critical minerals, workforce development, permitting and international perspectives.
