MATTHEW FRY
Associate Professor, Sch Of Environ,Society&Sustain
Research Summary: I am an Associate Professor, with a PhD in Geography, and a faculty affiliate with the Global Change and Sustainability Center. My research draws on political ecology, environmental governance, resource geography, and science and technology studies to examine diverse human-environment topics. I employ a variety of mixed-methods, including field measurements, spatial analysis, interviews, and content analysis.

MITCHELL J. POWER
Curator of the Garrett Herbarium, Utah Museum of Natural History, University of Utah
Professor, Sch Of Environ,Society&Sustain
Research Summary: I am a historical biogeographer with interests in modern and past plant communities and how they respond to natural disturbance. My research is aimed at understanding how climate influences ecosystem dynamics through time. I currently have projects in Ethiopia, Bolivia, the Caribbean and in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. The long-term impacts of climate-driven and human-caused landscape dynamics, including large-scale disturbances, produce a landscape with inherited ecological legacies.

THOMAS STEIN KRAFT
Assistant Professor, Anthropology Department
Co-director, Orang Asli Health and Lifeways Project (OAHeLP)
Research Summary: I am a behavioral ecologist interested in how interactions between social behavior, culture, and the environment shape human health and life history. My current research focuses on the evolutionary basis of variation in contemporary human health and aging outcomes across populations and individuals, particularly those experiencing rapid environmental and social change. My lab addresses these topics using ethnographic fieldwork and biomedical surveillance in small-scale subsistence societies.
