Research Statement

My main area of study includes the analysis of the discourses and dynamics of the politics of friendship in the realistic Latin American literary genres, their political and literary relevance, as well as the exploration of production mechanisms, manifested through support networks, collaboration and dissemination among writers and intellectuals, responding in this fashion to the urgency to collectively face the changes of modernity. The implications of the politics of friendship in these literary genres were inherent to realism during the first decades of the twentieth century and intervened directly in the discourses of nation, sovereignty, state and identity.
