Biography
Dr. Selene Campion is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston College.
Dr. Campion's research centers on political behavior and political economy in advanced democracies, with a focus on distributive politics and political representation in urban settings. Her book project examines the substantive outcomes of descriptive representation, particularly how minority representation influences public spending and redistribution within co-ethnic communities. Additional research interests include non-programmatic politics, such as clientelism and patronage, in advanced democracies.
