Haoning Xue's research focuses on digital information production and consumption, specifically, how multimodal media constructions influence public engagement and opinions across multiple issue contexts. The fundamental goal is to advance communication theory and offer theory-informed interventions to foster a reliable information ecosystem, improve the public’s media literacy and science engagement, and help eliminate information disparities.
