  • MUSC 1700 - Introduction to Music Education
    Introduction to teaching music as a profession that includes school-based observation.
  • MUSC 3015 - Creative Connections in Music
    In this course, students will explore the basic elements of music (melody, harmony, texture, rhythm, form, timbre, and expressive qualities) through singing, movement, and playing classroom instruments. Additionally, students will consider how to best apply music teaching and learning strategies in the elementary classroom.
  • MUSC 3720 - General Music Methods
    Effective methods and materials for teaching general music in elementary and secondary schools for music majors.
  • MUSC 3750 - Theoretical Foundations of Music Education
    Musical development in school-age children, applied music-learning theory, and methods for evaluating musical behavior.
  • MUSC 4790 - Choral Student Teaching
    Full-time teaching field experience in a secondary school choral music program.
