Research Summary

I am a behavioral ecologist interested in how interactions between social behavior, culture, and the environment shape human health and life history. My current research focuses on the evolutionary basis of variation in contemporary human health and aging outcomes across populations and individuals, particularly those experiencing rapid environmental and social change. My lab addresses these topics using ethnographic fieldwork and biomedical surveillance in small-scale subsistence societies.
