Biography

Farshid grew up in Ghorvehdargazin, Hamedan (a province in the west of IRAN), where he eventually attended Khaje Nasir University of Technology (KNTU). While there, Farshid obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He continued his education by graduating from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) by working on Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) flow simulation in the human brain. Given his fascination with how engineering can be applied to biological tissues and biomechanical applications, he decided to start a new journey and pursue his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Utah (UoU). Now, he is working in the Laboratory of Head Injury and Vessel Biomechanics. He is trying to quantify progressive damage to the blood vessels within the pia-arachnoid complex in the brain environment. He will also work on developing constitutive damage models to represent damage accumulation in brain vasculature.
