Biography

Francisco Rebel Barros is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Sociology at the University of Utah. He earned his bachelor's degree at the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil - where he comes from - and a Master's Degree in Criminology at the Université d'Ottawa in Canada. His research interests include police practices, police misconduct, police violence, human rights, Brazilian culture, Sociology of law, criminalization of poverty and, lately, gender inequality and crime, gender violence and crime, and drug legalization.
