  • PHIL 3110 - Survey of Medieval Philosophy
    A overview of key philosophical figures and conversations from late antiquity through the Middle Ages, focusing on the Christian intellectual tradition. Figures included include Augustine, Boethius, Dante, Thomas Aquinas.
  • PHIL 3640 - World Religions
    A survey of five major religious traditions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), attending to their historical roots, philosophical and doctrinal worldviews, sacred texts, rituals, and practices.
  • PHIL 3900 - Modern Christian Thought
    An overview of key Christian philosophers and theologians from the Enlightenment to today. Readings, which focus on the relationship of Christianity to "the world" and ways that Christians have addressed evil in the modern period, include important contributions from thinkers like Reinhold Niebuhr, Karl Barth, Karl Rahner, Elizabeth Johnson, and James Cone.
