Biography
Christi joined the Birth Care Health Care practice in November, 2012 as a Clinical Instructor of Nurse-Midwifery. Originally from Michigan, she moved west for educational advancement and graduated from the Seattle University Nurse-Midwifery program in 2012. She is very excited to be joining the practice and bring her work with military families in Seattle to the families of Utah. Prior to midwifery, Christi worked as the Medical Director at The Island School, in The Bahamas as a Wilderness EMT. She feels this experience gives her a unique ability to be creative with problem-solving. Christi will be providing care at the University Hospital, Clinic 4, and the Teen Mom Clinic. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, biking, hiking, and painting. She is also hoping to expand her Spanish language skills to better serve the women and families of the greater Salt Lake region.
Christi views her role as a midwife as having additional training and medical fluency to provide information, support, and advice to help women and families navigate their unique circumstances. She is passionate about the birth process and the empowerment of women.
