Biography

Dr. Jihyun Kim is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Utah, working with the Cosmic Ray Group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy. Since 2008, she has been an active member of the Telescope Array experiment, the largest observatory for ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) in the northern hemisphere. She has explored the nature and origin of UHECRs, mainly studied their arrival direction distribution, including anisotropy searches and point source searches, to understand the sources of UHECRs, which is one of the most important, yet unanswered, questions in modern physics and astrophysics.
