Research Statement

Danielle's scholarship agenda offers opportunities to engage in all areas of scholarship (discovery, teaching, application, and teaching and learning). 

Danielle seeks to examine the role of occupational therapy in perinatal health by exploring opportunities for occupational therapy professionals and students to practice within maternal health settings. Specific topics of interest including: whole family health promotion and wellness, the transition to the role of motherhood, and opportunities for interprofessional collaboration within women's health. 
 
In addition, Danielle is interested in developing innovative experiential learning opportunities in community-based and emerging settings.   
 
Other areas of interest include: occupational therapy in higher education to support student success, creating educational pipelines to health profession graduate programs, professional development in occupational therapy students, and early identification and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders.
