Research Summary

My scholarly work involves classical Persian texts, especially from the 11th century AD. I am writing two monographs involving topics such as metaphor and irony and women in classical Persian texts.

Research Statement

 

I work on classical Persian texts, especially from the 11 century AD.  I am interested in the history, historiography, and the literature of the early Perso-Islamic world, in other words, in events, the telling of events, and the contemplative and introspective tales of this distant past.
