Independent Film & Video Magazine called Trent Harris, “One of America’s premiere cult directors.” In 2001 The Los Angeles Critics Association awarded Harris, Best Independent Experimental Film, for his feature, Beaver Trilogy. This film was also listed by the London Guardian as one of “Fifty Lost Masterpieces” and hit the "Top Ten" list of Art Forum Magazine. Harris films have played at festivals worldwide with major screenings at Sundance, The Lincoln Center in New York, the British Film Institute, the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Harris is currently in production on his seventh feature film, Welcome To The Rubber Room. He has also made scores of documentaries for NBC, PBS, and National Geographic Explorer. Harrs is the author of two books, Monde Utah and Wild Goose Chronicles. In 2015 a feature film about Harris and his work produced by Brad Bessar called Beaver Trilogy Part 4 premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Harris has taught screenwriting at the University of Utah one semester a year for nearly two decades. His papers and films are held at the Marriott Library Special Collections, University of Utah.
