Research Statement

Barbara Brown is an environmental psychologist whose research interests include the linkages between the physical environment and human behavior, with special focus on the processes of walkability, privacy regulation, place attachment, and territoriality. Research applications of this approach focus on the areas of crime, transportation, housing and neighborhood design, environmental personalization, healthy communities, New Urbanism, and neighborhood and community growth, decline, and viability.
