  • I teach the practicum component of ED PSY 6631: Assessment & Instructional Strategies for Reading Difficulties. I also assign a UURC staff member to assist with this practicum. The UURC is not reimbursed for our time. Clinician, 08/2019 - present. College service.
  • Collaborated with College of Health to include Speech-Language Pathologist students in reading intervention coursework and practica with College of Education students. Co-collaborator, 08/2018 - 02/2022. University service.

Community Partnership

  • The UURC continues its work at 2 Youth-in-Custody sites (Ogden-Millcreek and Granite-Decker Lake. We train volunteers to tutor struggling readers and conduct Guided Book Clubs. I participate in service plan negotiations, budgets and staffing for this effort. 09/2022 - present

  • Dr. Ashley Pennell, a professor in the College of Education at Appalachia State University asked to tour the UURC and meet with me and other UURC staff to learn about our online direct services, statewide professional development, and intervention models.   • I provide consultation and support to parents of struggling readers all year. Activities include answering in-person, email and telephone inquiries from parents about their children's difficulties and possibilities for remediation. 09/2017 - present
