Dr. Jianli Chen is devoted to improving the building and urban sustainability and resilience for the future smart city. His research focus on building energy and airflow modeling, application of Artificial Intelligence and information technology for improved building and infrastructure smartness, building energy efficiency, occupant behavior, comfort, and health.

Biography

Dr. Jianli Chen is an assistant professor in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. Before joining the U, he works as a post-doc in US National Renewable Energy Lab for two years, with his research mostly relevant to Grid-Interactive Efficient Building with renewable energy integration and large scale building energy modeling. As an enthusatic researcher in building sustainability and smartness, he finished his PhD from Georgia Institute of Techonology along with a Master in Computer Science and Engineering. He has held several industrial experiences as an energy modeler or civil engineer to deal with real-world engineering issues.
