Biography

Gabe received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Indiana University under the mentorship of Nicola L. B. Pohl, where he worked on the development of analytical techniques for the separation of carbohydrates. Then, he did his postdoctoral research at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the Biological Sciences Division in the group of Richard D. Smith. There, he helped develop, and apply, new analytical instrumentation to tackle problems in omics-based research. He began as an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Utah in July 2020.
