Biography

Brett Myers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Utah. He completed a B.A. in Psychology and Voice & Speech (McDaniel College, 2010), an M.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders (University of Iowa, 2013), and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Hearing & Speech and Psychology (Vanderbilt University, 2019). Brett previously worked as a speech-language pathologist at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

As a clinical faculty member, Brett instructs and supervises graduate students in conducting evaluation and treatment of voice disorders. Brett is also a provider at the University of Utah Voice Disorders Center, treating patients with voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. Additionally, Brett serves as Digital Associate Editor for the Psychonomic Society. Brett's research interests include cognitive processes in speech production, motor control of voice and speech, and treatment modalities in voice disorders.

Outside of the clinic, Brett is an actor, director, and dialect coach for stage productions. He enjoys traveling and visiting his friends and family across the country.
