Biography

Brian Salisbury joined the EAE program at the University of Utah in 2015. He teaches a variety of courses in the character creation process such as character design to Anatomical Figure Sculpting, 3D Character Production, texturing,Rigging, Technical Art and Animation. He was awarded funds in 2017 to setup and run a Motion Capture Studio for the Entertainment Arts & Engineering undergraduate and graduate courses that has been used by 100's of students.

Salisbury was the Art Track Director for the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy graduate program from  in Interactive Entertainment at the University of Central Florida from it's inception in 2005 to 2015.

Prior to academic service, Brian worked in the Computer Graphics industry for 15 years.

At Microsoft Game studios in Salt Lake City, Brian served as a character production and animation lead on several projects, and art lead for Top Spin (XBOX). Other Interactive titles include Links 2004 (XBOX), Top Spin (XBOX) and Amped 3, Take 2 Interactive (XBOX360). Duties included character & animation pipelines, training & management from 2001 to 2005.

Salisbury worked at Kodiak Interactive in Salt Lake City as a lead character modeler and animation pipelines for WCW Mayhem, Electronic Arts (PS/N64), WCW Backstage Assault, Electronic Arts (PS/N64), and Monsters, Inc, Disney (PS2). from 1998 to 2001.

Brian's first major setp into the entertainment arena was at Viewpoint Datalabs in Orem, Utah. While there, he served as a senior digital sculptor providing content for film, games, broadcast and engineering. Notable projects included building character models for big-budget films Antz, Face Off, Godzilla and Space Jam. Here brian began his journey with directing motion capture shoots and learning how to edit use mocap for character use, developing skills and passions that he has shared with many students.
