Biography

Dr. Borbolla earned his MD in Argentina from the Universidad del Salvador in 2002, and a medical specialization in clinical informatics from Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires in 2008. He did then a postdoctoral fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) where also earned a Master of Science in Medical Informatic in 2012. Between 2012 and 2015 he was the Chief of the Clinical Informatics Area at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. In 2015 he joined the Mentored Postdoctoral program at the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) at the University of Utah. Dr. Borbolla is the director of the curriculum development for the executive training programs at DBMI. He is also involved in several service lines and Hospital operational projects as a member of the DBMI Sociotechnical ServiceLine and the Knowledge Management and Mobilization (KMM) Unit. Damian is also involved in Global Health Informatics initiatives and has worked as a consultant for  WHO and its regional office in the Americas PAHO, he is the chair of the EHR working group at RELACSIS (Latin American and Caribbean Network for HIS Strengthening).
