outreach/awareness, resource connection and women's leadership.
As a health advocate, I continuously work to influence healthcare leaders and service providers to address issues that
affect refugee, immigrant and minority women.

Assist the head of department in a broad variety of academic task for the department of women study in University of Alberta, Canada.
This included but not limited to aiding students with proposals and final dissertation requirements, curriculum design and
instruction for graduate students.
Help develop subject expertise in qualitative research methods including employing extensive academic experiences in
research methods students in department of Human, Ecology.
Conducted extensive research on African refugees in Alberta.
Carried out a meta-analysis of comparative migration research studies across the different immigrant class. Review the effect of resettlement issues on adaptation, and integration within the mainstream society. Aided in delivering Human Ecology 601 projects

Rehoboth Health Centre Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Conducted comprehensive assessment by reviewing individual plan through interviews and observations during consultation in collaboration with the individual, his/her family and/or caregivers, and appropriate professionals. Based on the assessment, a behavior plan is designed and approved by the consulting psychologist. Assisted caregivers to implement the plan in a practical manner while facilitating a liaison among professionals and environments to maximize the strengths, abilities, and resources of the individual and the community in which he/she lives.

Community-Based Research/HIV Projects Project focused on thirty-one communities in the Northwest Territories. Prepared and planned community-Based Research and HIV Projects Coalition. Completed and presented work plan, project budget and work progress to stakeholders and project partners.
1999/2001 Health Promotion Consultant - Community-Based Interventions/Tobacco Strategy Project focused on all population groups in the NWT. This involved researching, and reviewing health policies and health education intervention programs in the NWT, and across Canada for 21 Northern population groups focusing on diabetes, cancer and other acute and chronic illnesses. Drafted a GNWT - wide strategy to prevent and or reduce tobacco harm in the Territories among the Inuits and other
Northern population groups.

Developed subject expertise on intervention program research for a specific domestic and international HIV/AIDS risk behavior group (e.g. drug-related, heterosexual, and same-sex). Coordinated research and acquisitions activities for domestic and International HIV/AIDS intervention databases. These activities included literature review through manual and database searching, data collection, coding and development, acquiring materials, duplicate checking, cataloging database records, quality control, keeping statistics,
documenting procedures etc. Collected, analyzed, and documented intervention research for the domestic HIV/AIDS Cumulative Research Synthesis System. Monitored and coded intervention studies in a particular risk group. Prepared technical reports on the acquisition of international HIV/AIDS and coding activities.

Project: Opportunity for Micro Nutrition Interventions (OMNI) Compiled health care data into a reference manual for program managers and outreach workers. Conducted literature reviews on cultural practices that affect community health. Analyzed HIV/STD data from refugee camps in East/South Africa for the Family Planning Service Extension and Technical Support (SEATS) project.

Co-developed and conducted needs assessment of immigrants and refugees from transition to resettlement in Georgia. Assessed social and health care services, resettlement process, orientation, and adaptation. Analyzed cultural behavior of refugees as it affects resettlement procedures.
