Biography

I am originally from Kolkata, a city with rich cultural heritage situated in the eastern part of India. I am a Bengali and being a new mom to a precious little baby, juggling between parenting, research and teaching is now my daily routine.

Before this present phase of life, I got my Bachelors & Masters degree from India at Utkal University & TIFR-CAM respectively. At TIFR my Master's focussed on Differential Equations of all kinds! This motivated me to cultivate solving Inverse Problems involving ODEs & PDEs. During Summer 2021 I got an opportunity to pursue NSF Mathematical Sciences Graduate Internship at Argonne National Laboratory, on using Inverse Problems to solve problems in neurosciences, with Dr. Johann Rudi & Dr. Getnet Betrie. I'm currently working under the mentorship of Prof. Elena Cherkaev in Inverse Problems.

Now when I'm free, I love to cook or watch cooking shows. I am also very fond of gardening, painting and playing the piano.
