Biography

I am originally from Kolkata, a city with rich cultural heritage situated in the eastern part of India. I am a Bengali and being a new mom to a precious little baby, juggling between parenting, research and teaching is now my daily routine.

Before this present phase of life, I got my Bachelors & Masters degree from India at Utkal University & TIFR-CAM respectively. At TIFR my Master's focussed on Differential Equations of all kinds! This motivated me to cultivate solving Inverse Problems involving ODEs & PDEs. During Summer 2021 I got an opportunity to pursue NSF Mathematical Sciences Graduate Internship at Argonne National Laboratory, on using Inverse Problems to solve problems in neurosciences, with Dr. Johann Rudi & Dr. Getnet Betrie. This experience with my mentor Dr. Rudi led to a longer-term collaboration with him as he continues to mentor me through my doctoral research. I'm currently working under the mentorship of Prof. Elena Cherkaev in Inverse Problems.

Now when I'm free, I love to cook or watch cooking shows. I am also very fond of gardening, painting and playing the piano.
