Biography

Shawna M. Sisler, PhD, MS, MA, MAPP, RN, C-PNP-PC, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing at the University of Utah. Dr. Sisler is passionate about nursing education and transdisciplinary training across health professions. She currently teaches Global Health, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, Health Policy/Equity, and Health Humanism. Dr. Sisler’s scholarly contributions focus on behavioral health integration and social determinants of mental health, particularly in the field of suicidology and workforce wellness.

Dr. Sisler received her Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of Utah and her MS in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She holds two additional Masters degrees in Applied Positive Psychology and Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and Santa Clara University, respectively. Prior to her time at the CON, Dr. Sisler practiced and taught at UCSF in both child psychiatry and developmental medicine.
