Research Summary
I study how to leverage recreation to provide meaningful and culturally relevant experiences for youth where they develop skills and resources that enable them to address injustices and inequities in their lives. My focus is on youth who could benefit from better access to personally and culturally relevant recreation opportunities because they have been marginalized or harmed by systemic oppression. My research is centered in outdoor education, summer camp, and parks and recreation spaces.
