Research Statement

I am dedicated to increasing our understanding of how best to differentiate language differences from language disorders in dual language learners (DLLs). Students and I have examined the role of home language support in DLLs' acquisition of language, the potential of computer-based language activities activities on language development in DLLs, practices of SLPs when assessing DLL Hmong children, and the potential of employing translanguaging as a language assessment tool for calculating MLU in Armenian and Hmong DLLS.
