Biography

Carmen Ramos, MS, RD is the Curriculum and Community Programs Lead for the University of Utah Center for Community Nutrition. Carmen is originally from Chicago, and she received her BS in Health and Exercise Science from Skidmore College in New York. She is a 2015 graduate from the University of Utah Nutrition Coordinated Master’s Program. After graduation, she worked 2 years with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. She has a strong interest in working with the underserved and Hispanic population, primarily in diabetes prevention. Carmen is a registered dietitian and develops the nutrition curriculum for the diabetes prevention outreach programs in middle schools, high schools, and homeless shelters. She also teaches the Spanish community classes for the U of U Diabetes Prevention Program. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, visiting national parks, and caring for her four cats.
