I am interested in legal research and legal education in general, specifically the changing nature of legal education. I am also interested in bringing more transactional skills to legal education.
Melissa Bernstein, library director and professor of law, joined the S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2012. Prior to 2012, she served in various capacities including Head of Reference and Faculty Services at the Tarlton Law Library, University of Texas School of Law. Professor Bernstein received a B.A. from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She earned her M.L.I.S. from the Pratt Institute. Prior to her career as a law librarian, Professor Bernstein practiced corporate law at several law firms in New York and New Jersey, specializing in leveraged leasing. In addition to her administrative duties in the library, Professor Bernstein teaches legal research, specializing in corporate and business research. She developed and teaches the research lab for administrative law, and is an Associate Dean at the J. Willard Marriott Library.
