Hans Malissa studied physics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, where he obtained his master’s degree in 2002 and his doctor’s degree in 2007. In 2009 he moved to Princeton University for a postdoctoral appointment within the scope of an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship. In 2012 he moved to the University of Utah as a postdoctoral fellow and was appointed as a research assistant professor in 2015. Since 2018 he works part time at the University of Utah and at the University of Regensburg, Germany.
