John Bogart is the principal of Telos VG, PLLC, a Salt Lake CIty litigation firm. He was a Partner in the Salt Lake City office of Howrey, LLP from 2004 through 2010. At Howrey he was a member of the Global Litigation, Antitrust, and Appellate practice groups. Before that he was a shareholder in the firm Bendinger, Crockett, Peterson & Casey.
Mr. Bogart's practice focuses on private antitrust cases and other complex litigation, including securities and accountant liability, class actions, MDL proceedings, and commercial litigation. Benchmark Litigation 2010 named Mr. Bogart as the leading antitrust litigator for Utah, and he has been named as a legal leader in antitrust and complex commercial litigation by Utah Business. He is admitted to practice in California (now inactive) and Utah, the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the District Courts of California, Arizona and Utah.Prior to entering private practice in 1993, Mr. Bogart held post-graduate research appointments in philosophy at a number of universities, including New York University, Stanford, and the University of Southern California. His research and publications focused on topics in the philosophy of law and political theory. Mr. Bogart received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1993. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1985. In 1978, he graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with College Honors, Honors in Major, and Thesis Honors.
