Research Statement

My research is in the longitudinal relationship among physical activity, health, and cognitive functioning in the pediatric population. Additional interests span public health including physical activity epidemiology, health-related fitness, and injury prevention. I attempt to use longitudinal and prediction modeling to examine the relationships among the aforementioned variables over time. I am an Associate Editor for the journal Preventive Medicine and serve on the Editorial Boards for Journal of Physical Activity and Health, Annals of Behavioral Medicine, Preventive Medicine Reports, Perceptual and Motor Skills, Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science, and BMC Public Health.
