Biography

Rus Wilson has taught English As a Second Language since 1999. He has largely taught  in intensive English programs that prepare students to succeed in the university before enrollment, though he taught matriculated ELI students  in Hawaii for three years.

One of his greatest areas of interest in ESL is content teaching, where the students are taught English through another discipline. Some of his favorites have been English through Filmmaking, Introductory to University Level Sciences, Biology Adjunct, and Dramatically Speaking (a drama/pronunciation class.)

Outside of the classroom, he loves spending time with his wife and four children. They enjoy taking care of their various unusual pets, performing in puppet shows in various locations in Utah, and making movies together. Rus also publishes articles in aquarium magazines and, along with his wife, hosts a weekly podcast on aquariums and fishkeeping.
