Research Summary

I am a historical biogeographer with interests in modern and past plant communities and how they respond to natural disturbance. My research is aimed at understanding how climate influences ecosystem dynamics through time. I currently have projects in Ethiopia, Bolivia, the Caribbean and in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. The long-term impacts of climate-driven and human-caused landscape dynamics, including large-scale disturbances, produce a landscape with inherited ecological legacies.
