Biography

 

Tony Passey is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) of Marketing in the David Eccles School of Business.  He received a M.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics, both from the University of Utah.  Tony has an extensive background in digital marketing strategy and analytics.  Outside of teaching he provides mentoring and consulting currently in online campaign strategy and optimization.

Tony has been the founder of several companies in a variety of verticals.  In 2010, he founded Firetoss in Salt Lake City, UT and is currently serving as the CEO.  His courses are a mixutre of of digital marketing strategy, digital channel mastery, and post campaign analysis through metrics and dimensions.  Tony uses a mix of projects and assignments to teach students digital marketing concepts.  

A little about Firetoss:

Firetoss is a Magento Professional Partner, and the only certified partner in Utah and Nevada.  As a Magento Developer, Firetoss works with B2B and B2C brands to develop sales channels for growth type companies.   Firetoss is also and Adobe Marketing Partner.  Firetoss builds and executes campaigns for enterprise companies in a variety of verticals.

Other Teaching Activities

Tony volunteers in many other teaching capacities providing instruction to entreprenuers and local businesses.  Such teaching activites include volunteering at the South Jordan Chamber Business Expo, the South Valley Chamber Marketing Academy, Marketing Hacknight, and the Chamber's Women in Business seminars.  

In the community Tony provides specific instruction on topics such as Pay-per-click advertising on Google and Bing, Utah SEO strategies for businesses, and Web Design for Utah businesses.
