Teaching Philosophy

As educators, we can facilitate the "deepest learning  by interacting with students as adult learners, setting high expectations, tapping into their current knowledge and beliefs by asking them questions, encouraging them to ask questions, engaging them in discussion, and providing opportunities to integrate new ideas with their past knowledge through application activities.  Students will learn the most when they can actively manipulate new concepts and techniques and incorporate them into their existing knowledge base.
