Research Statement

Currently, Dr. Hayes serves as chair of the Sports Medicine Research Council for the University Health Sciences. The charge of the Research Council is to develop ways to interdisciplinary blend the quality research and technology in place across the Sports Medicine network.   The goal is to help organize, facilitate, and formalize a forum where quality research ideas and individuals from across natural collaborations within the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Family and Preventative Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Athletics, and the College of Health can process research grants/projects with large impact.  The aim is to propose, design, and facilitate a Center of Research Excellence that aligns with the mission, increases research funding, provides infrastructure support, enhances national recognition of individual programs, improves evidence based care and practice to our patients, as well as, expands student learning opportunities.
