Biography

Karin Fojtik recently retired after serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, and, most recently, the Violent Crime Section Chief, for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Utah. She worked in the District of Utah as an Assistant United States Attorney for the last twenty years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and her law degree from the University of Utah. Following law school she joined the Cook County States Attorneys Office in Chicago, Illinois. She returned to Utah and practiced in a number of prosecutor's offices around the state including the Attorney General's Office, Salt Lake City and Sandy City. She clerked for the Hon. Paul Cassell and then joined the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Utah where she served in a number of roles including Deputy White Collar Section Chief and Senior Litigation Counsel. During 2016-17 she served as the National Coordinator for Project Safe Childhood in the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
