Research Summary

Dr. Liang's research focuses on the selection and educational use of children's and young adult literature, children's literature in teacher preparation programs, K-12 students' understanding and engagement with specific texts, and text characteristics as related to K-12 student response and understanding of texts. Current research projects focus on students' social-emotional related outcomes with guided conversations around picturebooks, and librarian and teacher collaborations.
