Teaching Philosophy

My instructional pedagogy (4.5 yrs @ University, R1 level) combines styles of both active and passive learning with the former a predominate focus. I strongly feel a facilitated immersion of melded technical (e.g., hands-on) and theoretical (e.g., published research) materials provides a superior instructional foundation in contrast to strictly passive styles of learning (e.g., lecture). Even more given the highly skilled-based nature of both Geographic and anthropologic careers or research methodologies.
