Carolyn Scheese, MS, RN is currently an assistant professor and full-time faculty at the University of Utah College of Nursing, where she was the Director of the Simulation Learning Center from 2010 – 2013 and Director of the RN to BS Program from 2013 - Jan 2017. Prior to her position at the University of Utah, she worked in the Operating Room at LDS Hospital in a variety of roles including Transplant Team Coordinator, Staff Educator, and for 12 years as Program Director for the Intermountain Healthcare Surgical Technology Program and RN Perioperative Program. She has published in areas of simulation, managerial operations, and perioperative education, processes and procedures. Courses taught include subject matters of leadership, evidence based practice, simulation, physical assessment, and project development and implementation. Carolyn has mentored multiple masters students in their final semester in their teaching nursing program. She served two medical service missions with Operation Smile to Manazales, Colombia, where they performed cleft lip and palate repairs.
