Research Summary

Jessica’s research interests focus on improving outcomes for individuals. Currently, she is studying the processes and outcomes of labor induction to promote physiologic birth and reduce the primary cesarean birth rate. Jessica is also interested in family planning and other women's health research.

Biography

Jessica is a Utah native who supports nurse-midwifery care for individuals and populations. She promotes the normal (physiologic) birth process through her clinical care and by engaging in research focused on birth processes and outcomes. She believes individuals are the healthiest when they listen to their bodies and participate in making healthcare decisions through a shared decision-making model. In her free time Jessica enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and skiing. She loves living in Utah and playing in the mountains. Jessica is married, with two grown sons, two grand babies and two labrador retrievers.
