Biography

I am the Collection Development Librarian at the Marriott Library. I ensure that University of Utah faculty, staff, students, and community members can access library materials such as print and digital journals, books, databases, and other media. While much of what I do is purchase and subscribe to library materials that meet the needs of the campus, I also investigate and implement new scholarly publishing initiatives that move the research landscape to a more open and equitable environment.

Research Summary

I focus on area studies collection development and finding ways to grow foreign language and international library collections. These collections require unique acquisition methods and are not often accessible via the library’s mainstream purchasing channels. Area studies collections are interdisciplinary, but have significance for the UU's Title VI-funded centers and programs – Asia Center, Center for Latin American Studies, and the Middle East program.
