My name is Brittany Badger and I am currently a Ph.D. student with the Health Promotion and Education department focusing on social inequality, food access/sustainability concerns and cultural representation within local food. I received my MS in spring 2012 with the same department with an Obesity and Eating Disorder Prevention emphasis. My research then addressed nutritional, body image, and sedentary lifestyle concerns with women in substance abuse treatment. Currently, I am the wellness coordinator for Salt Lake County's employee wellness program and am an assistant professor for the H EDU department teaching the Community Health Issues course. I love hiking, backpacking, good conversation, riding my bike around town, a good cup of coffee and engaging with my community. Lastly, I am lucky to be a part of an organizing committee that is helping bring an annual TED licensed, TEDxSaltLakeCity event to Salt Lake every fall.
