Research Statement

My research is on automation and optimization of energy and chemical systems. My work focuses on integrated systems with many components and using the tools of optimization and process control to automate the system in a way that ensures efficiency and reliability. I have a special emphasis on energy storage, combined heat and power, and district energy systems. My work also includes advanced control techniques such as model predictive control, dynamic optimization, machine learning for abnormal event detection and process modeling. I am also particularly interested in solar power and hybrid energy systems, where multiple energy sources can be used in a synergistic way to achieve results that are globally beneficial.
