Research Summary

Research areas have focused on improving the lives of people with neurological and cognitive disabilities by exploring topics such as: cognitive rehabilitation, the use of technology, perceptions of health, healthy lifestyles education, and resilience characteristics. A second area of research interest is pedagogy in graduate health science programs.

Biography

Beth considers herself foremost an Occupational Therapist. The focus of her clinical practice has been in the treatment of adults with neurological injuries, specifically the cognitive deficits related to acquired brain injury. Beth found her passion for teaching by volunteering at the Occupational Therapy program during the very first year of students. After a few years of balancing clinical work, teaching, and graduate school, she took a full time faculty position. Besides teaching, Beth serves as the Program Director of the MOT and entry-level OTD programs. She has two research interests- pedagogy in graduate programs and the treatment of adults with cognitive deficits.
