Research Statement

(1) Designing tools for creating clinical data entry and review applications for use at the point of care; (2) Object-oriented design methods for clinical information systems, particularly focusing on modular applications and function reusability; (3) Incorporating guidelines into the clinical documentation process in order to implement best practices and decrease data entry requirements; (4) Providing links to clinically relevant information based on specific knowledge about a patient; (5) Consumer health informatics. (6) Health Information Exchange. I am also the Director of the FURTHeR project, which is the Informatics infrastructure for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the University.
